Chapter Two: The stuff of nightmare's

Third Pony POV:

(F/N) and the others were confronted by guards shortly after stepping into the resistance's headquarters. Glow Stick vouched for him and Tia, but he was taken to the organization's leaders. Not wanting to cause a scene, and ruin good ties with a potential ally, (F/N) surrendered his armor and sword before walking with Tia to a room.

(F/N)'s POV:

"This does not bode well." I said under my breath as I stood guard at the door. While I readied myself for combat on the off chance that the resistance guards tried something, Tia was wandering around the fair sized room trying to find where a 'weird' smell was coming from.

After an hour, Tia had given up on her search, and practiced her magic, by using levitation to braid my tail. There was a slight creek as the door slowly opened. Tia crouched behind me, and I lowered my horn. "I-it's me." We heard as a light yellow hoof stuck through the crack. "C'mon in Glow." Glow Stick walked in the room, Tia bounded over to him, and gave him a hug. "YAY! Glow Sticky!" Glow blushed at the childish nickname Celestia had givin him, though his name was already pretty silly.

"Are you OK Glow? You look a little shaken" Glow smiled, and stepped out of the room. "I'm alright, the council chewed me out for bringing you here, but they cooled down after I told them what had happened, and the result of my mission." Tia rode on my back as I followed Glow through the base. "They asked to meet with you two."

~Time Skip~

Third Pony POV:

Tia stood next to (F/N) as they stopped in front of the semi-circle table with five unicorn mares sitting on the other side of it. "So your (F/N), and she must be Tia." The red and yellow maned, orange coated mare said as the four slightly younger mares looked us over. "That is correct." The cream colored mare stood up. "On behalf of myself, the council, and the rest of the resistance, thank you for rescuing Agent Hoax. His mission was of vital importance, and with the information he gathered, we can plan our next move."

(F/N)'s POV:

Starlight Glimmer, the only one of the mare's to introduce them selves asked what Tia and I were doing in the forest, and I told them what I told Glow Stick. "I'm not entirely sure, I woke up with most of my memory gone, and after Tia woke up I discovered she had amnesia." "We're looking for our sister!" Tia added as she bounced up and down. A mare, who had a light blue coat, and a silver mane, rased an eye brow. "How do you know you have a sister?" "Big brother told me, but I don't remember what she looks like." "I see."

~Time Skip~

Third Pony POV:

The five Mare's sent them away, and had some medic ponys to try to restore Tia's memory but that didn't work. A little later they called Tia and (F/N) back, but this time Glow was with them. "After discussing the information you gathered, we have decided to reach out to Empress Ball for assistance. Agent Hoax we are sending you to meet her, and deliver our message." "Y-yes M-Mam!" The purple unicorn that had remained silent, looked to (F/N). "You have proven that you are a capable warrior. As such, we would like for you to escort Agent Hoax to the Screw Empire. Your best bet for a magical solution to Tia's amnesia would be there, and you could find some clue at to where your sister is." (F/N) looked down at Tia, and the two nodded at each other. "Alright."

After getting a good night's sleep, and collecting their equipment, Glow Stick, Tia, and (F/N) left bright and early for the Empire. "After a millennia of rest, the Champion of the Night shall return to decimate the enemies of she who needs him." "What's that from Twilight?" The purple unicorn smiled, and pulled the baby dragon to her. "It's Star Swirls prophesy about the return of the stallion in the moon." "You think (F/N) is him don't you?" "The (F/C) shadow on the moon disappeared, then a (F/C) stallion in (Second F/C) armor arrives just in time to save Glow Stick? That's too convenient not to be him." "If you say so." "All I can say is that he is either going to save us, or kill us all." "I just hope Agent Hoax doesn't do anything stupid like try to go through Moon Scorched Valley." "Even if he does, as long as they don't touch anything, everything will be fine." "I'm more worried about Empress Screwball, she can be a bit ... random." Twilight turned to her friend. "Don't worry Trixie, I'm sure she'll see reason."

(F/N)'s POV:

"Why don't we just take the road?" I asked after Glow suggested taking a short cut through the Everfree Forest. "Trust me, if we take the shortcut, we'll shave a four days off our trip, and we're more likely to run into Tribals, and other bad things on the road." About thirty minutes later, I gave in, and we headed into the forest.

"See, nothing to worry about." Glow said with a big smile as we made our way out of the south end of the forest. "W-what is that." I asked as I gazed over the field full of burial markers. "That's the Moon Scorched Valley, also known as Heretic Valley. It's the second half of the short cut." "I've got a bad feeling about this." "It'll be fine. ... Just don't touch anything."

As we began to walk through the valley, I reassured Tia that everything would be alright. "Why is this called Heretic Valley?" "Anypony that stands up aginst Nightmare Moon, or is deemed a heretic is left here to rot in open graves. There's no shade so their bodys are 'watched under the condemning light of the moon long after death'. At least thats what the Tribals told me." Glow looked back at me, and smiled. "If it weren't for you I would have ended up here too." Tia had some how fallen asleep as we headed deeper into the valley. 'Little filly is braver than I am.'

"Heretic: Blue Blood. For falsely claiming to be kin of our holy goddess."

"Heretic: Flash Sentry. For defying the will of our holy goddess, and denying her radiant glory."

"Heretic's: Flim and Flam. For attempting to swindle the Tribal Elder's of Whitetail Wood of our holy goddesse's treasure."

Glow and I took turns reading markers as we made it to the middle of the valley. I was about to read another when I stopped, and charged my horn with magic. "Glow stop, there's more of that purple stuff!" "Yeah, thats nightmare energy. It's the same stuff that comes off Nightmare Moon. Just don't touch it, or anything else, and we'll be fine."

The moment he said that, he fell into one of the graves. "Heretic: Starswirl. For speaking against, and attempting to do combat with our holy goddess." The nightmare energy began to swarm us from all sides, and merged with the bodys in the graves! "TIA, you need to wake up NOW!" Glow jumped out of the grave with a glowing skeleton holding onto his left hind leg. "Big brother?" Nightmare skeletons surrounded us, and prepared to attack. "Stay close to me." I threw an adavnced shield around us. Glow ran in, the bearded skeleton was forced off, but the nightmare energy followed him in.

"TAKE THIS!" Glow said as his horn flashed, and a light dispersed the blue-ish purple mass. "Glow, Tia aim your light spells at my horn!" "W-why?" "Just do it!" Glow hesitantly did as I said. The moment their spells hit me, I channeled the light into my shield, and expanded it, destroying all the Nightmare skeletons. "Let's get out of here."

~Time Skip~

Third Pony POV:

Glow continued to apologize for messing up over the next three hours of not falling into graves, and fighting undead nightmare pony's. As they exited the valley, (F/N) turned to Glow Stick. "Relax, like I said before, what happened, happened. Were close now, right?" "Y-yeah, just a few more hours, and we'll reach the pass that leads into the Screw Ball Empire. Though most call it the Discordian Empire." "THE WHAT!?" Glow looked confused, and so did Tia. "The empire founded by Discord after he broke free seven hundred years ago." "Big brother why do you look so unhappy?" "Discord was a bad pony thing that loved tormenting others." Glow thought it was odd that he knew so much about Discord, but just shrugged it off. "We need to get going if we want to make it before night fall."
